1.533 Μm Frequency-Locked Laser
Thorlabs' LLD1530 Frequency-Locked Laser is a narrow linewidth, DFB-laser-diode-based, turnkey system with a vacuum emission wavelength of 1532.8323 nm and a high SMSR of at least 35 dB. The laser frequency is actively stabilized to a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)-traceable molecular transition of acetylene and has an absolute accuracy at start-up that is better than ±25 MHz. The emission frequency immediately after start-up is then maintained with a ±25 MHz stability, providing an overall frequency accuracy of ±50 MHz. The LLD1530 is an accurate frequency reference designed to provide low-noise laser emission with excellent frequency stability, accuracy, and precision immediately at start-up. This source is ideal for use in demanding FTIR instrumentation, instrument calibration, gas sensing, and coherent telecommunications applications.

2-Wavelength, Polarization-Maintaining WDMs
Thorlabs' Fused Polarization Maintaining (PM) Wavelength Division Multiplexers (WDMs) combine two wavelengths of light in PM fiber while maintaining the polarization of the incident light. These WDMs are reversible; they can also be used to split two discrete wavelengths entering the common port into two separate output ports. They are not designed to split the output from a broadband source. PM WDMs are often used for pump / signal applications that incorporate erbium-doped or ytterbium-doped fiber amplifiers. They can be readily customized for a wide variety of applications, enabling rapid design cycles and new project builds. For custom requests, please contact Tech Support.

Detectors
Thorlabs' photodetectors are capable of detecting light throughout the UV, VIS, NIR, IR, and THz spectral regions. Our photodetectors feature sensors that enable properties such as intensity, power, intensity distribution, wavefront shape, energy, and wavelength to be measured. We offer unmounted photodiodes as well as amplified, biased, and avalanche photodetectors. Thermal power detectors are available unmounted, mounted on a PCB, or mounted on an aluminum plate. Also available are position-detecting sensors, integrating spheres, and an acoustic detection module.

Electro-Optic Modulators
Thorlabs’ selection of electro-optic (EO) modulators includes free-space and fiber-coupled LiNbO3 modulators. Free-space amplitude, phase, or resonant modulators can operate at speeds up to 100 MHz. We also offer liquid crystal EO modulators for speeds up to 2.5 kHz. Fiber-coupled intensity, phase, or IQ modulators for speeds up to 40 GHz can be driven by our EO modulator drivers. A modulator bias controller is also available for use with fiber-coupled intensity modulators.

Fiber End Face Interferometer
Thorlabs' GL16 End Face Interferometer measures and images the end face geometry of single- and multi-fiber connectors. A non-contact technique called scanning white-light interferometry (SWLI) provides high accuracy, repeatability, and reliability for fiber connector testing, particularly for pass/fail testing using IEC or Telcordia requirements. The system can be controlled locally through the touchscreen display or remotely through a browser-based application (see Software tab for details), allowing it to be easily integrated on the production floor.

Fiber Optomechanics
The versatile FiberBench product line includes Single and Multi-Axis FiberBenches as well as a wide variety of compatible components ranging from beamsplitter modules to wave plate units. FiberBenches form the foundation of a nearly infinite array of miniature fiber optic systems that customers have been building for the last decade. When used with the FiberPort Collimators/Couplers, a complete optical circuit can be constructed. The Fiber Launch Platforms are ideal for coupling a free space laser into a single mode, multimode, or polarization-maintaining fiber. Other accessories include fiber mounts, fixed and kinematic collimator adapters, and L-bracket mating sleeves.

Fourier Transform Optical Spectrum Analyzer, 350 - 1100 nm
OSA201C
Thorlabs' Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSAs) perform highly accurate spectral measurements. Compatible with fiber-coupled and free-space light sources, these compact benchtop instruments suit a wide variety of applications, such as analyzing the spectrum of a telecom signal, resolving the Fabry-Perot modes of a gain chip, and identifying gas absorption lines. Many commonly available OSAs use grating-based monochromators, which have slow acquisition times due to the need to mechanically scan the grating and average out noise at each wavelength. Thorlabs' OSAs acquire the spectrum via a Fourier transform using a scanning Michelson interferometer in a push/pull configuration. This approach dramatically improves the acquisition time, enables a high-precision wavelength meter mode with 7 significant figures and ±1 part-per-million accuracy, and allows the included software to provide robust statistical analysis of the acquired spectra, as explained in the Design tab.
