The 724 is a family of CAEN Waveform Digitizer able to perform basic waveform recording and run online advanced algorithms (DPP) of pulse height analysis and dynamic acquisition window. Data is read by a Flash ADC, 14-bit resolution and 100 MS/s sampling rate, which is well suited for high resolution detectors as Silicon, HPGe or inorganic scintillators like NaI or CsI coupled with Charge Sensitive Preamplifers. In the waveform recording mode, algorithms of zero suppression are also implemented to reduce the data throughput. The acquisition can be channel independent and it is possible to make coincidence/anticoincidence logic among diferent channels and external veto/gating. The Model 480 is a laboratory grade fluxmeter, for use with a Helmholtz coil or custom search coils. This instrument measures the total flux of a magnet part, which can be related to the magnetic field strength. Applications include magnet testing, magnetizing, and automated field measurement. In order to provide accurate and repeatable measurements, automatic or manual drift compensation is available to the user. A peak mode allows even the fastest magnetic pulse, such as those from a magnetizer, to be accurately measured. The Model 480 is also useful for measuring AC fields that are too high in frequency for a gaussmeter to detect. Relay outputs and an external reset input allow for simple automation functions to be implemented, while the RS232C and IEEE-488 ports permit advanced control of the fluxmeter via a remote computer or automation equipment.

MSI Time-Domain-Reflectometry (TDR) Structural-Health Monitoring probes the structural health of a composite part by propagating a fast electrical pulse along a distributed linear sensor which has been fabricated directly in the laminate. The sensor is formed from the native graphite fibers already used in composite manufacture, and constitutes zero defect. Fibers are patterned into a microwave waveguide geometry, or transmission line, and interrogated by a rapid pulse as shown below. Structural faults along the line cause distortions in waveguide geometry, producing reflected pulses similar to radar. Cracking, delamination, disbonds, moisture penetration, marcelling, and strain are all detected by propagation delay, for sensor lengths up to several meters.
