MIL-STD 461 & DO-160 Chambers
Cuming-Lehman Chambers MIL-STD 461E/F test chamber is specially designed for testing in accordance with the military standard.MIL-STD 461 SHIELDING SYSTEMOur MIL-STD 461F/DO-160 enclosure is modular panel construction; the panels are a laminate of 26 gauge, electrolytically deposited zinc sheet steel laminated to both surfaces of ¾” thick solid, (structural) core material. These panels have a flame spread of 20 minutes or less as rated by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. The panels are joined by specifically designed framing members that clamp the edges of the panels and provide constant, low impedance joints with the shielding elements of the chamber. Weld nuts are on 3” centers and our corners are welded; no screws are used and nothing penetrates our chamber.

Active Monopole Antenna
AM-741
The 41 inch Monopole antenna is required for making electric field emission measurements below 60 MHz per Military standards (MIL-STD-461) and FAA (DO-160) specifications. This antenna is for emissions measurements only. It cannot be used for transmitting. The Active Monopole antenna is generally used in a shielded room or in a screen room, with the equipment under test (EUT) placed on a metal ground plane. The 41 inch rod and the ground plane behave electrically as though a mirror image of the rod were located below the ground, and the ground removed. Since the stainless steel plate does not have enough surface area to mirror the entire 41 inch rod, it is bonded to the surrounding ground plane during use. The AM-741 is battery powered to prevent measurement errors that maybe caused by external power cables. The ANSI equivalent capacitance substitution (ECSM) method is the recommended method for calibrating AM-741 monopole antenna. The individual calibration data will be included with each antenna.

Altitude Testing
Our environmental testing facilities simulate altitude testing from -400 ft. (-121 meters) to outer space at 100,000 ft. (30,480 meters) or up to 10-6 Torr (1.3e-7 kPa) with temperature applied as low as -300°F (180C). We can reach these heights within 5 minutes or less. We are capable to handle products measuring up to 4ft X 4ft X 8ft to many standards, including MIL-STD-810 and RTCA DO-160.

Contaminating Fluid Testing
Products manufactured using plastics, coated and painted surfaces, seals or other "A" surface materials can come in contact with spilled chemicals, sweat, cleaners, lubricants and fuels that can be a potential stress source for a product. These stress sources can cause discoloration, deterioration and de-lamination failures. We can create a list of fluids and/or follow TRCA, DO-160, MIL-STD-810 and ASTM guidelines for a list of products that should be used to test your part's compatibility.

EMC Test Equipment
TDEMI eXtreme series
Highest measurement speed. Highest accuracy. Incredible dynamic. New operation modes. The novel product line TDEMI eXtreme (TDEMI X) is the latest and most advanced level of full digital measurement equipment for emission testing on the fast lane. It is based on the unrivaled and patented TDEMI® real-time technology of GAUSS INSTRUMENTS. It is easy and efficient in upgrading its frequency range by a various number of extensions which can be integrated into the instrument step by step. The frequency ranges are 1 GHz, 3 GHz, 6 GHz, 18 GHz, 26.5 GHz or 40 GHz respectively. A large variety of configuration possibilities makes the TDEMI X to the customized solution perfect fitting into your lab and to your application according to civil standards (e. g. CISPR, EN, FCC Part 15, ANSI C63.2, ANSI C63.4), military standards (e. g. MIL-461G, but also its previous versions and revisions) as well as avionic standards (e. g. DO-160). The frequency range of the TDEMI X instruments starts at 9 kHz in its standard configuration and can be extended down to 10 Hz by the option MIL/DO-UG or even down to DC by the available option OSC-UG as well. Like all other TDEMI measurement systems, the TDEMI X measurement systems can be remotely controlled and fully automated via Ethernet (TCP/IP) very easily.

Rapid Decompression Test Chambers
CA-RD(H)
CSZ's rapid decompression test chamber is designed to simulate rapid decompression for testing aircraft avionics. The environmental chamber meets the environmental conditions and test procedures for airborne equipment referenced in the RTCA DO-160 test specification. The DO-160 specification was designed to test sudden pressure changes starting from 8,000 feet to 60,000 feet (536 to 55 Torr) in 15 seconds. An altitude of 8,000 feet (536 Torr) was used for the initial cabin altitude and 60,000 feet was used for the final cabin altitude after decompression. This test specification is used to identify failures of materials inside of the cabin and the reaction to the surrounding environment.
